Francoise was "improbably lovely," the type of character you see in movies. Of course, her life was a life, not a movie. But as the narrator, Barry (a writer who may or may not be the author), stunned... This description may be from another edition of this product.

Crusty is as Crusty Does

If only I could be the crust on Barry Graham's toothbrush my life would be complete

I was only 14...

I came across 'Get Out...' in my local library, in the adult section four years ago. I have since read it again and again, used it in book reviews during my A-levels and mentioned it in my uni applications. I adore the book, it is near faultless and recommend it to all and sundry. It may be disturbing to some, but isway beyond that to the majority... closer to home than most believe...

Love his writing

"Before" -- It was a beautiful love story, in my opinion. I couldn't stop thinking about it for days after I read it. Barry is a magnificant writer -- very easily the characters get inside your head -- and you are living it right along with them. "Before" was exceptionally moving for me. "Get out as early as you can" -- also very beautifully written... In my opinion -- I didn't think it was a "gothic horror story" but another love story -- the love a little young boy had for his younger sister. very moving. ending was troublesome -- but I could feel the little boys pain and love ....and actually understood.

barry graham is a great writer

graham is a total original, and there's nobody like him. he writes about people that other writers don't write about. i read THE BOOK OF MAN and it was good, but this one is much better. i read it in one sitting and wanted more.

who cares whether Graham's books are autobiographical???

Will you folks get over it? Readers say his work is based on his life. He says it isn't. I don't care - where ever he gets it from, he's one of the best writers around. If he wrote autobiographical novels, all his books would be about what it's like to be the best author of his generation. Whatever. He's been such a well-kept secret for so long, I'm just glad to see that people are reading him.
