Beer Encyclopedia presents thorough overview of the brewing process- from the beer ingredients to its styles. Also a breakdown per region and country. This description may be from another edition of this product.
An excellent introductory volume to the world of beers, which gives a general outline on much of what you will find throughout the world, quite often accessible to those whom have stores specializing in some of them. Given the shear volume of beer that exists, this is an excellent way to break down the particular styles and tastes of many different beers available, with excellent background on the countries and regions that you may find access to. For a european traveler, this book will provide ample research for what you will come across; and irregardless will prove to be a great study on the subject for curiousity seekers. RMP PS: The author does not pass judgement on the beers, as that could become very subjective, not to mention weighing down the purpose that the book intends, to identify with different as needed for the reader to assess according to their own finding. In this way the book succeeds; though I have not checked out other books on the subject, I do identify the book as a great introductory volume.
