Strengthening My Purpose

This book was one of a few choices presented for my Ladies Class to use over the next few weeks. When I saw the title I was immediately drawn to it. There are lots of people in my life who are watching me. Some of these are very dear to me, and their souls are precious. Anything I can do to be a better influence is more than worth the effort. The book is very easy to read. It has interesting stories in each section,and there are thoughtful study questions for each section. A really good thing to me is the notes where the author gives the bibliographic citation for every reference she used. I definitely recommend this book.

Great Study

My Bible study/prayer group is using this book. We are finding it very practical and inspirational. We have enjoyed sharing our Christian walk through this study. As women who have prayed and studied together for over ten years, this is an excellent book about being a mentor to other women.

Excellent, uplifting and encouraging book.

This is the first Carol Kent book that I have read, but it will not be the last. I loved it! It reminded me of how we can be an encourager to others and often we may not even realize it. Just by letting the love of Jesus shine through us to others. How we can help lead others to Christ just by be being an example of a good christian friend. This book is excellent, great for a women's book club read.

Mentoring 101

In my life I have had many women of Influence that have spoken tons of wisdom into my life. I wanted to pass on the great blessing that had been given to me. This book really taught me how to be a God centered mentor. This book is one of the most PRACTICAL books I have read on mentoring. Carol starts off with a few thoughts on the power of mentoring. Then she goes through several different core values of becoming that woman of influence. It takes you through some key character traits of the perfect person of influence: Jesus. There is a study guide in the back that will take you on a 9 week Bible study about how Jesus influenced others. I was very impressed with Carol Kent. This was the first book of hers that I had read. It won't be the last. You can hear her heart that she has to see Christian women grow in their faith and to become all that they have been created to be. I was so blessed by the stories that she shares about her mentors and some other stories. Carol gives you a glance on what it feels like to live life on purpose. You can feel her fulfillment that she gets from her "mentorship" relationships. It's catchy! If you are a Christian woman who is around any other women, this book is for you. You will be encouraged to take the light that God has placed in your spirit and pass it on to the next generation. *As a young college student let me tell ya, there are a BUNCH of young women who need your guidance, map, and wisdom.
