Good Informational Book on Becoming a Citizen

This a a good book for people studying to become a citizen of the United States and information for kids who are curious or are helping their parents. The book is older so some of the information is no longer valid. The fee prices have skyrocketed, but much of the information remains the same. Since many people who are studying to become a citizen are learning English, this book is great to practice reading at the intermediate level. Kids may also help their parents with this book or it can be used as a resource when studying about citizenship.

An excellent book to talk about becoming a US Citizen

I went looking for a book to help us celebrate our daughter offically becoming a US citizen and having her certificate of Citizenship and how other people from other countries go about becoming a US citizen. The book I feel can grow with your child, first in the photos and maybe a brief sentence or two to a 2nd or 3rd grader reading themselves. The words are big and the pictures and explainations of each picture is very nice touch in understanding. The contents of this book are: What is a Citizen, who can become a citizen, applying for naturalization, Citzenship test, the ceremony for becoming a citizen. Would you pass the Citizenship Test, and then there is more information on more books to read on Becoming a Citizen, Adopting a New Home, Voting, Immigrant Kids, Serving on a Jury and Running for a public office. Also listed is 4 internet sites on American Immigration Center, Immigration and Naturalization Service ( now called BCIS after 9-11), National Citizenship Network for information and how to Study for the Citizenship Test. Definately an awesome book! Hope my review helps.
