I first read this book as a young girl in elementary school. My librarian was a good friend of my family's and she read it to me almost every time I went into the library. As an older student, I read it to the younger kids and I have always enjoyed the story. It is a simple story of a dog who meets two children who love him despite his shortcomings. Truly touching and heartwarming, it is an unforgettable story that I still enjoy to this day.
