Bearland is a well organized history of plush bears. There are photographs of owners as well as the bears themselves. It focues on the German,English, and American craftsmen and women who designed the bears. It concludes with information about current bearmakers. There is an unusual chapter about bears in books from Goldilocks to Brideshead Revisited. The list of addresses at the end includes museums in the U.S., Germany, Italy and England.Hopefully it can be brought back in print.Personal note: I have been noting the number of adults as well as children traveling with toy bears. Last month at the Boulder Colordo airport a lady had a bear in her tote she had brought home from the hospital when she was born. There is a tremendous interest in bears, and this book is really for everyone who has had a furry toy animal sitting on his/her bed.
