This is an 80+ page pamphlet that connects Edgar Cayce reading excerpts with a wee bit of commentary. Edgar Cayce was one of the 20th century's most famous psychics--but his readings were given in a non-conscious state. He left some 14,000 of them which are preserved and promulgated by the Association for Research & Enlightenment located in Virginia Beach, VA in the USA. I was a member for some dozen years. Most of the readings are health-related but there are also readings on spiritual subjects including karma, reincarnation, meditation, psychic development, etc. Cayce was a religious person which appears to be reflected to a degree in the readings. There are many books & pamphlets on Cayce's life and readings. Some also include other sources for comparison. This one, however, concentrates on appropriate readings. It states on p. 81: "Across the world many troubled people seek out a variety of psychics & would-be psychics for help & positive reinforcement. The Edgar Cayce readings assure us that we can all develop psychic ability, & that the safest & truest way we to get the answers we need is to turn within." Mostly, the pamphlet concerns itself with context/background and an individual's preparation/attitude in seeking personal psychic development or ability. But, there are also some specific techniques given. One of the main thrusts of the readings' point of view is to not seek outside sources such as automatic writing, mediums, etc. Such sources are not only fallible, but they involve a surrender of a person's will to another--a dangerous undertaking--best avoided. This is a good introduction to both psychic development and to Cayce's non-medical readings. I do not know if the later editions of this book add or modify it much.
