Great Guide. Wonderful easy to follow maps

I have found this to be the must useful guide I have when I visited a number of these battlefields. You are given a small introduction to each battle. They are well written but brief. the great contribution of this book are the maps. Modern Ordance Survey maps showing modern roads and features are in gray, the battlefield and troop positions are overlaid on the modern map in color. The maps are easy to read and make following the troop movements and actions possible. The book also provides a decent catalog of major military events in England. I wish Smurthwaite and his team would produce a similar work on a single conflict or even better, produce this type of guide for the United States. If you visit the battlefields of Great Britian this book is almost a must.
