Fantastic Retelling of Biblical Story!

I am totally amazed by this book and it took me very little time to read, because I was so absorbed in the story. The book is a wonderful retelling of the story of Bathsheba, a 19 year old woman who was torn away by King David from her first husband and somehow works her way up to being his most important wife. She uses her intelligence to take care of her husband and insure that her son Solomon becomes the chosen son to rule after he dies. I found the story fascinating and the author's story absorbing. There were parts I reread to get the full flavor of the book and enjoy it even more. The book is out of print right now and I was just lucky to find an old copy in my basement where there are books I've never read. Boy, am I glad I picked this book up, it's wonderful and I hope that someday it will in print again.
