Great Catwoman book!

The storyline of this book is that catwoman tries and almost outsmarts Batman in this crime. She tries to steal twin, priceless, Egyptian cats but only manages to grab one before Batman shows up. As she leaves, she wonders to herself, "why does Batman always know where I am?" So, she disguises herself as a police woman to nab the second cat and almost gets away with it before Batman corners her on a rooftop. Great story, great for little ones learning how to read and starting to read chapter books. Highly recommend!

A good way to get Batman fans reading.

The writing is appropriate for the 8 and under crowd. A good introduction to chapter books for reading aloud or independently.

Excellent bridge to chapter books

My son is a huge fan of super heroes. These books have been a great bridge to chapter books. The chapters are 3-5 pages in length, and alternate full pages with half pages, with the whole book running about 25-30 pp. There are illustrations from the (apparently) original comic books, which helps keep his interest. When we first started reading these, he would read one chapter a night; we have worked our way up to the whole book, and it was great for his confidence! The story lines are intersting and there is good action to keep it moving, but the series is definitely geared toward kids. There isn't any over the top or excessive fighting like you see in some superhero books. Batman is a great role model - the books show that a large part of succeeding at what you try is to think it through first. I would (and do!) recommend these books.
