Basic Mathematics for College Students: You can count on you

Linda D. Falstein, in "Basic Mathematics for College Students: You can count on yourself!", has masterfully created a textbook that students of all ages can use. Her organization of chapters and information within the chapters gives the student a greater confidence as they proceed from one topic to another. She presents her topics in an easy to understand and logical progression.I especially admired her manner of teaching the student how to work on word problems. In the chapter "Introduction to Word Problems (Translation between English and Algebra)" she takes the fear out of mastering word problems. Math/Algebra phobes can feel confident that they understand how to work a word problem when they complete this chapter. I should know, it allowed me to pass an otherwise grueling Intermediate Algebra test.Unfortunately, this book is no longer in print. Maybe writing to the publisher (Addison-Wesley) would help return it to the bookshelves. Students everywhere would benefit from it.
