Well Written and Easy to Understand

I never had algebra in high school. I'm glad I bought this book. This book is well written for people who learn differently and learn at their own pace. Ever since I've been practicing with this book, I found out I did well on the excercises and tests. A must have for anyone with a different ability. Unitl this day I can't stop practicing. I wish textbooks in higher education were written this way.

matching ISBN numbers for Student & Teacher's Editions

I've dipped in and out of this text, and it's been terrific. In particular, I found that the book's word problems worked well in a "Singapore Math" class for 4th and 5th graders. I've found that it's easy to track down copies of the corresponding Teacher's Edition if you know the ISBN number. My copy of the student edition has ISBN number: 0-395-98002-X. Copyrights listed are 1988, 1990, 1993, and 2000, although you don't need to worry about the dates. It's the ISBN number that matters. I have the corresponding Teacher's Edition, with copyrights 1988, 1990, 1993, and 2000. ISBN for the Teacher's edition: 0-395-63747-3. If you're homeschooling, afterschooling, or self-teaching, you don't need any other supplementary materials. Catherine Johnson - KitchenTableMath.net

Clear, concise, easy-to-use algebra book

This a a wonderful algebra book, and I only wish it would be reprinted in a more affordable copy with all of the extras---teacher's copy, supplementary worksheets, tests and answer guides. I use this book in teaching algebra to my special education students, and even my 8th graders are handling the lessons with skill, and developing solid comprehension in the use of algebra. When I tutor at a learning clinic that I own, students arrive, confused from the mishap instructions in the Chicago Math books and/or their clones. I pull out this wonderful book and reteach the lesson using a well-designed process. The child returns to class understanding the concept. Constantly the children complain, "Why can't we have decent books like this one to use at our school?" I totally agree. Why can't we?

If you are having trouble this is the book!

I was having a lot of problems with algebra while going for my GED and bought every book on the subject, my teacher had me try this one and I love it and bought myself a copy. It is extremely easy to follow and takes you step by step. The instructions are very clear and helpful. This is truly a great book and worth every cent if you need help in the subject,
