I Couldn't Put it Down!

I was really disappointed in someof the reviews I read especially one extremely discouraging review. This book is another of Lori Wick's great works of writing. I could not put it down! Lori Wick has created another masterpiece. I have all, but one series, of her books. The only one I found disappointing was "The Princess." Set in the 21st century "Bamboo & Lace" follows the progress of a young woman from Kashien as she comes to America and the new experinces along the way. At times it was so funny I found myself laughing out loud, other times I wanted to cry. Lori Wick has concocted a book that takes you on a roller coaster of emotions with the characters. All in all it was a great book and when you read it a second time you will experiance the magic all over again.

Lori Wick's Newest Book Unique

In this technological age in which we live, I have often thought about how a person from another time stepping into the 21st century would react, how many things would be unfamiliar and bewildering to him, how many words in the language of today would either make no sense in the context used or else would be totally meaningless. For instance, the word "gay" used to mean "happy" and "surfing the net" unheard of. Lori Wick's newest book, "Bamboo and Lace" reminded me of this theme and therefore caught my fascination. Her twist, however, had her heroine stepping not out of time but out of place, invoking many thought-provoking situations. I thoroughly enjoyed this latest work by Lori and feel it is a much better example of the type of liturature she is capable of producing as opposed to a few other recent works. I didn't want to put it down. As always, she brings her deep spiritual insight into the lives of her characters, bringing blessings to her readers.

She's done it again!

Lori Wick has done it again. I highly recammend this book to anyone! I related to this book on so many levels that it was uncanny, and I think that anyone and everyone will look a little deeper into themselves after reading this book. The characters were lovable and beautifully developed and enhanced the wonderfully ingenious plot that Lori Wick is famous for. The faith that this book shows through its characters is moving and bittersweet. Read it a second time and you will fall in love all over again! Let's hear it for Lori Wick!

A Must Read if You are a Lori Wick Fan

I liked all of Lori's books (I own them all)but Bamboo and Lace out shines all her other work. I was intriged at the beginning and cried from the middle to the end. I will enjoy rereading it in the near future. I hope that she continues to write in this direction. It is more today oriented. It has examples of the Christian standards that are lacking in today society.

36 hours or less

There is something about Lori Wick that I can't put her books down. This one was no different. I finished it within 36 hours of buying it. It was a precious story of how two worlds collide. I love reading about how people have patience to deal with family and different worlds and God. It takes into account honoring your parents no matter the cause and waiting patiently for the mate God has for you. This book was incredible. READ IT!
