Book Overview

A wild ride inside the glowing head of Dennis Rodman--the NBA's greatest rebounder and America's most outspoken and outrageous athlete. When Sports Illustrated put the man they call "America's most provocative athlete" on their cover, they sold more copies than any other issue they had sold in a decade (except the swimsuit issue). Why? Because Dennis Rodman has more in common with Mick Jagger than with his teammate Michael Jordan. With his body-covering tattoos and ever-changing fluorescent hair, Rodman's sideline antics and celebrated benchings captivated sports fans as much as his record-breaking on-court performances and earned him a reputation as a rebel with the same penchant for shocking behavior as his on-again off-again squeeze, Madonna. In Bad as I Wanna Be he shares his surprising and candid opinions on: - Mortality: "If I die young, everybody's going to say they saw it coming."- His game: "I never want to score. Never. I want to rebound."- Having it all: "From the outside I had everything I could want. From the inside I had nothing but an empty soul and a gun in my lap.". . . And so much more, including his life, from going to prison for stealing watches to his daughter, the light of his life. At a time when most celebrities and professional athletes try to control their public personas like politicians and refrain from expressing their true beliefs, Dennis Rodman is a refreshingly unique, uncompromising individual who both transcends his world and refuses to conform to it. Bad as I Wanna Be is as candid, intriguing, and unforgettable as he is. This description may be from another edition of this product.

Very fun read

Dennis is a very likable, respectable guy and you learn it early on in the book. its never boring and he doesn't necessarily have to be as famous as he is for this autobio to be enjoyable. it's a good book

Mr. misunderstood

Though I was not the biggest fan of Dennis Rodman, as a basketball player, I always throught that the nba an media picked on him. People didn't hate on him as much when he played for Detroit, but as soon as he dyed his hair, that's when all the mean bashing began. In Bad as I want to Be, Dennis set's the record straight, and gives his opinion, on the league, and players. I have all Dennis's books and love them all.

the truth about the current nba

race, sex, drugs, class very much of todays sports in general and life for that matter.while the images of the nba are glossy and everybody says the right thing dennis rodman tells it like it is in this book.he breaks down the current nba and the choices people make.the other parts of this book reflect his life.and much of it has highs & lows.but as for the nba it hits home.talks about how certain players are treated differently...

Bad As I Wanna Be

An excellent tell all book. A glimpse into the mind of a great athlete. Well written and very articulate. Great editing. He has a lot to say and brings to light the darker side of the NBA.

All I can say is he's Dennis Rodman

If you are a true basketball lover, you'll love this book, because you have to respect the way he plays the game. 100% effort all the time. It's really great to see where he came from!
