Beautiful book

This is a beautiful book with a story that chidren love to have read to them. I give this as a baby shower gift and it is fun to see these children grow up with this book and how it becomes part of their bedtime rituals. We were heartbroken when it was out of print and are cheering what we hope is a strong return!

Wonderful book

I would give this book 10 stars if I could! It has lovely, rhyming text & wonderful illustrations. It is a pleasure to read for both parent & child & a wonderful bedtime book.

Soothing words for little ones and adults

my husband and I love reading this book to our little girl. We started when she was 3 weeks old and now she is 9 months old and we devour it each night before bedtime. She is captivated by the illustrations. It really is a wonderful bedtime story. By far, our favorite childrens book.

Part of our daily bedtime ritual

My little girl and I enjoy the poetry and beautiful illustrations of Backyard Bedtime. The words have a wonderful rhythm and are soothing and relaxing - a perfect book for tucking in a little one for the night.

Delightful! A nice sturdy book that will stand up to countless readings. Its a nice introduction to poetry and a will make a nice addition to the bedtime ritual. I suspect that my daughter will ask for this most bedtimes. To give just a taste of this delightful book, I quote the first page: It's bedtime for vegetables, carrots and beans Turnips and pumpkins, potatoes and greens Curl close to the vine, now, my little sweet pea I'll sing you an earth song-- Hush, hush, sleep, deep
