This book originally appeared in 1985 and was reissued in 1991. Based on a review of questionaires issed to selected individuals, the relative rating of practioners and methods of treatment is still current as of this date (2/2005), judged by my personal experience with treatment of this condition for over 30 years. His bottom line: See a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation if your back does not get well with treatment by someone else, especially if someone has recommended surgery!!
