Things have been good for Eve and Ruby ever since they moved to Madeline Island in northern Wisconsin. Their apron-making business has taken off, their cottage is the envy of the town, and they've made great friends. But there's something missing from Eve's life - her daughter. When she was 17, Eve gave her up for adoption.
Just finished reading "Moon Over Madeline Island", and I'm so glad to find out that the sequel is already out. Of course, I had to order this too. Jay Gilbertson does an excellent job of character development, I feel like I want to walk into their island cottage and join them all for dinner. What fun people. Just a fun romp, very enjoyable reading. I live on a lake, and enjoy vacationing near the water. I knew about Madeline Island years ago, but now my husband and I are planning a vacation there.

This book is sooooo good, as is the first one, Moon Over MAdeline Island, Eve and Ruby are characters you can just fall in love with, and the other characters are great too! The story is very cute but read the first one first...its more fun that way!

I LOVED Moon over Madeline, and Back to Madeline Island is even better! This story is highly entertaining. The humor is witty and sarcastic (love it), and at the same time I found myself truly engaged with the characters and their friendships. In the end, I found myself smiling--sorta that warm fuzzy feeling and really appreciating my own wonderful friends. I hope that when I am Ruby's age, I will be as thing as she is, and that I will be surrounded by such wonderful people and appreciate adventures in my daily life. If only they could quite smoking......(the cigarettes).

I enjoyed Moon Over Madeline Island and was looking forward to the sequel. Back to Madeline Island was so much fun. I loved the descriptive sentences. I could hear the leaves crunching, the waves lapping, the snow blowing, and even smell the pine trees. Jay Gilbertson has a way of making the reader feel like they are a part of the family of friends. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
Happy to be back

I loved Moon over Madeline Island -- I couldn't wait for the sequel to come out. The only problem I have with Back to Madeline Island is that it is too short. Jay Gilbertson creates a wonderful world, filled with wonderful characters, into which one can escape from the mundane world. It's a fun read, that could be improved only by being longer, and more in depth. Some of the vignettes are too short, and could be improved with greater detail. I am waiting for the next sequel, and hope the wait isn't too long.
