Book Overview

It's as easy as waving bye-bye Babies have a lot to say, even before they can actually speak familiar bedtime words like "sleepy" and "quiet." Baby Signs are simple gestures that allow babies and toddlers to communicate what they see, what they need, and even how they feel. Research has shown that Baby Signs decrease frustration and tantrums and help your baby talk sooner. When to begin: When your child starts to wave bye-bye. How to do it: Show your...

Baby Signs books are great - this is my favorite

Every night we would read and practice our signs. By the time she was one year old, she could sign the signs from this book. Ok, her signs were not perfect but I knew what she was talking about. Learning signs has really helped with her communicating with us. I am so glad she learned the signs. Now, at 2 years old, she talks and uses the signs to help us understand.

a favorite!

My daughter is now 12 months old and she has been enjoying her Baby Signs books from the very beginning. When she was young she just enjoyed looking at the faces but now she selects them for story time and looks at them on her own - even making the signs as she reads the book to herself. These books definitely helped her pick up the signs and the pictures help her to link both the work and the object. Fabulous!

Nice book

Two pages are dedicated to each word. The first page is a picture of the item and the word spelled out. The second page is a child signing the word. The words: moon, stars, sleepy, bath, toothbrush, quiet, book, blanket, love, light

My 2nd favorite baby sign book

My favorite of the series is the "My first signs" book, as it gave our baby her start on signing. This one is a close second. Our daughter's always been enchanted by animals, and she loves to look at the pictures of the animals in the book. Some of the signs are a little confusing to her (she won't do horse, cow, mouse, or butterfly (she thinks butterflies are flowers no matter how much we sign "butterfly" to her)) But she loves to look at the pictures and do the signs for the rest of the pages. She does like to look at the pictures of the signs she doesn't do yet. Once she started to get the idea of signing animals, I've had to invent new signs for zoo animals and other animals not in the books! (camel, which she loves to sign, is pretending to spit, btw).

My baby loves this book!

We got this book at the library and my 16 month old loves it so much I'm going to buy it for her. She learned how to make the signs in just a few days and loves the book so much she is contantly bringing it to me. She always want to look at the pictures and gets a fantastic smile on her face. Then she kisses the the photos. Very cute.
