Geddes Gets It

Anne Geddes really "gets" kids and more importantly, she understands how to take photographs of them! This is a lovely book.

Sweet and wonderful book of Names

Wow The pictures and the cover make this book very special. It's just a great name book. The pictures are just wonderful and the text is cool. Top of the Top number 7.

Wonderful baby name book

This is a wonderful baby name book, one of the best I've seen available. It's a good size (approx 8" x 10"). There are pages for photos, birth information, and "why your name was chosen" at the front, hence the "keepsake" aspect to it. The girls section is in the first half of the book, the boys in the second half, and each section is alphabetized, so it's easy to look up a name's meaning. There are common names such as Anne and Ashley, as well as unique names such as Aurelia and Ailsa. Here are two examples of how the names are defined (note: in the book, each name is in bold): Isaac, "God may smile upon me," Hebrew. In the Old Testament, the son of Abraham who was saved from being sacrificed.Liam, Irish Gaelic short form of William. So as you can see, some name definitions are longer than others, yet most (99%) provide name meaning and origin. Anne Geddes baby photos are scattered throughout, and the layout is reader-friendly, so overall I find it to be a helpful and adorable book. Therefore I highly recommend it to others. Best wishes!

Nice book

Comment about the review left by Donna in Wisconsin... I've seen this book, it's nicely done, beautiful pictures, and it has the 'normal' as far as baby names goes.. great idea for a gift. Her complaint, I believe, was a torn cover. That was a shipping and handeling error, not anything to do with the book. An unfair review, in my opinion.

Poor product handling

When I ordered the book it said nothing of torn binding in both the front and back cover. There was also a tear in the edging of the book itself. I would not have ordered had I known this. The book was meant as a gift for a couple expecting twins. I can no longer give this as a gift and need to buy another to replace it. I am very unhappy and disappointed in the poor communication.I love the book itself but not this copy of it. I have on of my own and wanted to share it.
