When a father with four children moves in next door to cranky, limping old Mr. Grady and his fierce-looking dog, Mr. Grady is brusque, and scoffs when he learns that the children are home-schooled. But when a heavy snowfall blocks Mr. Grady indoors, his new neighbors extend a helping hand (with shovel) to clear a path. "'Come on boys,' said Dad. 'We have a trapped neighbor.' 'But Dad, he told us to never go near his house!' 'I know, son, but sometimes God wants you to reach out your hand even though it might get bit.'"
