My Baby's Favorite Book

Baby Faces is an excellent first- time book for youngsters and it is my daughter's book of choice. My little one has recived many books as gifts and she has a few that she looks at on a consistent basis. But among all of the books she has received thus far, Baby Faces still ranks as her favorite. She loves flipping the pages and concentrating on the faces of the young babies. She likes gripping the tabs and turning the pages herself. It makes her feel independent and confident that she can use a book without needing any help. The expressions on her face as she looks through this book range from one of concentration to giddiness. There are many things to like about this book and chief among them is the construction. This book has only fourteen inside pages and they are made from thick cardboard. The pages can be bent, but they cannot be torn like the pages of an ordinary book. Tearing pages is a common problem with toddlers and their books but this problem is alleviated thanks to the sturdy construction. The only wear and tear I have noticed is on the tab at the very bottom. Because this bottom tab sticks out in the open more than the others, it is the one most likely to become frayed. But this is the only wear I have noticed. The rest of the book is solid and nearly incapable of destruction by youngsters. The next great thing about this book is the pictures themselves. These are not necessarily the cutest babies you will ever see but they are very fun and very expressive nonetheless. The photography captures the specific emotion quite well and the colors are vibrant. It's no wonder little kids love this book so much. The bright colors grab their attention and imagination and they do not want to put the book down. My little girl will look at these pictures and remain content for a long period of time. Another nice thing about this book is its use as a learning tool. Its construction helps kids with their gross motor skills but it is also a good book for teaching kids the different emotions. My little girl likes to point at the pictures and attempt to verbalize what each child is expressing. Some of her words are clear; others are a jumble of slurs and baby talk. But this is part of the fun. She will stare at the pictures, smile, point at them, say an occasional word(s), and think about what she is looking at before moving on to the next page. Baby Faces is an excellent first book for young babies. Recommended for little ones aged six months or older, this book is fun and educational. Infants and toddlers love to look at pictures of babies and Baby Faces will keep them entertained for hours. It is my little girl's favorite book and one we are very happy to own.

Very Cute!

My daughter loves this book! She loves different faces and colorful pictures.

Baby Faces

I bought this Playskool book when my grandson was about 6 months old, and he absolutely loves it! He is now 18 months old and it continues to be one of his favorite books. He loves to point to the pictures of the babies and jabbers away about them. The photographs are so realistic that he tries to touch the knitted cap on the *sleepy* baby. He also kisses the pictures of the babies. This is a definite must have for your 6 month and older child. It is very intriguing for small children. I love the book because it shows different emotions, states and events which includes, happy, sad, angry, shy, sleepy, messy, & silly babies.

Excellent

My son LOVES this book. He enjoys turning the tabbed pages and seeing each new face, he even tries to mimic the babies in the book. My son has enjoyed this book since he was about 7-8 months old, and he still enjoys it now that he is 1 year old.

This is my son's favorite book!

We first found this book at our public library, but since our son loved it so much we bought him his own copy! All babies love to look at other babies, and the wonderful expressions on the faces of these babies are irresistable! Because the pages are tabbed, our little boy had an easier time turning the pages than with other books. We use the book to talk about expressions, emotions, parts of the face, and the activities the babies are doing. This book is now a part of every baby gift we give.
