Book Overview

Sybil received the baby dolly as a present, but she didn't like it. Three days later, her sister Rose Marie died a mysterious death. Later, when Sybil's daughter Rose had a baby born out of wedlock, Sybil gave orders to protect the family reputation by hiding the birth from the entire town. This was 1910, after all. When baby Angela was 3 months old, Sybil brought her old doll down from the attic as a present. Mysteriously, Angela did not wake...

Just ok

30 something years ago, my mother had every book ever published by Ruby Jean Jensen. I borrowed and read them, but since it's been so long I only remember that I liked most of them and don't recall the plot details. I do wish I knew what happened to her collection after she passed away but I have been slowly collecting my own. Since Ruby Jean Jensen's books are slowly starting to be re-released and available in hard cover for the first time in decades I thought I would pull out an old paperback to read. These books can still be found in thrift stores, but many are now available to order for ebook or pre-order for hard cover. This book was not all I hoped it would be. I don't think I'm spoiling anything for you to say it's about a doll that kills people. The doll originally came from somewhere in South America and was given to a 12 year old girl in 1882 who resented it immediately because she was too old to play with baby dolls. She was the first to discover that the doll could be used to do away with people. I loved the first third of the book because it was not only creepy but read like a historical fiction. As time passed and the doll continued to kill through several generations it became so repetitive that I've lost track of how many times people began to suspect the doll of causing deaths and then miraculously forget their suspicions in 477 pages that could have easily fit into 300

Ruby Rules

Just for the record Im on my Husband's account. This was the first Ruby Jean Jensen book I ever read. My library has an ongoing booksale and this book was on a shelf marked "free, please take them". I picked up the book because the cover caught my eye. I figured, what the heck, its free. Took it home and started reading it that night. I stayed up almost all night reading it. Woke up the next morning, picked it back up and sat there until I was finished. She is absolutely AMAZING! I dont understand why she quit writing. I have read a few others of hers, but they have been out of print for years and very hard to come by.

You think Stephen King Is Good?

I am a Stephen King Junkie but I'll tell you what about 12 years ago I picked up a book by Ruby Jean Jensen then another and another. Actually Every book that had her name on it. Not a one of them was bad I'd give them all 5 stars. Liek I said I'm a Stephen King Junkie but Ruby Jensen is in My opinion Better than King! And from What I've read of her stuff the best two books you can get are Annabelle and Lost And Found! Check them out and see if you Don't agree! I lent mine out and never got them back and now am hoping to find them again. I actually lent out all my Ruby Jensen books and never got them back. See If I ever do that again. these are books you would read over and over again.
