But, beneath the veneer of his ambition, Babbitt is deeply discontented with the daily grind of his life and retreats to a dreamworld of adventure and romance. Babbitt Redux is a satire and homage to Sinclair Lewis' 1920's classic, skewering the conformity, banality and shallow values of the American upper-middle class.
