Let me explain. I don't have this particular book; however, I do have the giant, coffee table book "The Great Book of all WWII Airplanes" illustrated by Rikyu Watanabe. I can tell you that whatever the collaboration, Watanabe's illustrations are beautiful, masterful illustrations that would justify buying this book. If you are an aviation enthusiast of any level, buy any book illustrated by this artist. You won't be disappointed.
Rikyu Watanabe's artwork alone is worth the price

As a balsa free flight model builder, I say Rikyu Watanabe's artwork alone is worth the price. More recent digital artwork tends to have less soul and detail. Watanabe's panel lines and other great detail is what you would expect from a former WWII pilot who went on to develop his art. The book is packed with details in text also.
