Avatar: The Last Airbender – Imbalance Part Three (Team Avatar Envisions Republic City)

Avatar: The Last Airbender – Imbalance Part Three begins with everyone in shock at Toph’s suggestion that Aang removes Liling’s bending. Katara argues that removing someone’s bending is not easy, but Toph believes it is justified for her crimes. Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Suki all discuss the topic. The only quiet one is the person who would have to take Liling’s bending away. Aang speaks with Liling, asking how to resolve the conflict between benders and non-benders. Liling finds it laughable how Aang believes he can solve everything with words. She deems that Aang should have killed Fire Lord Ozai when he had the chance and that a life without bending is no way to live. Aang declares he will defend the non-benders of Cranefish Town. Liling asks how far he is willing to go. Yaling’s earthbending is restored the following day, and she is fuming. Ru suggests they sneak into the Earthen Fire Industries factory, where Liling is being held, under the cover of darkness. Yaling wants to draw Team Avatar away from the factory and rescue Liling during the day. Yaling will do whatever it takes to get her back. Aang and Katara have a heart-to-heart about what removing Liling’s bending would mean, removing a part of her identity. Satoru rushes over to Aang and Katara and informs them about the fire surrounding the Business Council. Aang and Katara put out the fire while Toph enters the building to rescue Lao and the rest of the non-bender council members. It’s cute how one of the Business Council members compliments Lao’s daughter, Toph. Meanwhile, Yaling gathers a small army of benders to take down the non-benders guarding Liling, including Sokka and Suki. Yaling succeeds by blocking Sokka and Suki from helping the other non-benders and rescuing Liling. Later, Aang, Katara, Toph, Lao, and Satoru return to the Earthen Fire Industries factory and discover the damage Yaling has caused during the distraction. Katara converses with the head of the security team that got hurt and heals her. They discuss how it scares them that Liling escaped and how they seem to be one step behind Liling. The Business Council members will stay inside the Earthen Fire Industries factory while Team Avatar protects them. The security team asks Suki to teach them Chi-blocking, and Suki agrees. When Liling reunites with Ru and Yaling, Ru shows her mother their packed bags and discusses her plans to leave Cranefish Town. Liling declares they are not going and will drive out the Avatar, his friends, and all the non-benders. Liling reminds Ru that they had to flee Ba Sing Se when Princess Azula infiltrated the city and broke the walls. Liling defends Fire Lord Ozai and his reasoning for wanting to dominate the other Nations by exploiting their weaknesses. Ru asks if Liling sees her as a weakness because she can’t bend any elements. Although Liling claims she loves Yaling and Ru equally, Ru has doubts. Suki trains the soldiers on the basics of Chi-blocking while Aang confides in Sokka about his current predicament. Aang blames the situation on the progress of machines, but Sokka points out that the benders fighting for supremacy over non-benders are to blame. Aang admits Sokka is correct and turns in for the night while Sokka waits for Suki to finish teaching. They get a surprise visit from Ru. Ru acknowledges that she disagrees with Liling and Yaling’s actions, but she doesn’t know how she can turn against her blood. Sokka gives an example of a person who was in a similar situation—Zuko. Ru reveals Liling’s plans to attack the Earthen Fire Industries factory in the morning. Ru asks Sokka and Suki to prevent her mother from hurting anyone else. Ru also requests Suki to teach her Chi-blocking. The next morning, Aang guards the Business Council atop the Earthen Fire Industries factory. Some benders provide the non-benders with supplies but refuse to fight for them physically, stating Aang is asking for too much. That is ridiculous. Liling, Yaling, and Liling’s followers a
