Lin Oliver's ATTACK OF THE GROWLING EYEBALLS: WHO SHRUNK DANIEL FUNK? BOOK 1 tells of a regular boy stuck living a house full of girls. When he suddenly shrinks he discovers he DOES have a long-coveted brother: a ver tiny brother and a twin who is lots of trouble. Hilarious drawings by Stephen Gilpin enhance this easy reader for grades 2-4.

A fun and delightful book

Eleven-year-old Daniel Funk lives in a house comprised entirely of females, including a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother, two older sisters and a younger sister. Even the dog is female! While Daniel loves his family, he does get tired of being the only male, especially since no one seems to get him, and he is constantly being criticized for his behavior. Who in the world doesn't enjoy a good, loud belch once in a while? Then one day Daniel's life is tossed upside down and he gets the first amazing surprise of his life: He shrinks down to the size of his fourth toe! He doesn't know what causes it but does have a few warning symptoms, like a growling behind his eyeballs and a whistling in his knees. After a few moments of being tiny, he suffers a huge sneeze and is back to normal size. Completely freaked, he hurries out to tell his family, but no one believes him --- except for Great Granny Nanny. As it turns out, shrinking runs in the family. Great Granny Nanny tells Daniel about the family history of shrinking, but an interruption disrupts further discussion. Later, as Daniel finishes up in the bathroom, he shrinks again, this time falling into the toilet bowl. On the verge of drowning, he catches a hold of some dangling dental floss and climbs to safety. His rescuer offers him the second amazing surprise of his life: a twin brother! The reason Daniel and the rest of the family never knew about Pablo is that Pablo has always been the size of a toe. When they were born, Pablo was laying in Daniel's ear. Luckily, Great Granny Nanny noticed and has been taking care of the tiny twin, unbeknownst to anyone else in the family. However, now that Daniel knows about his brother, he is ecstatic and ready to set out on any and all brotherly adventures, big and small --- and maybe even figure out the mystery of what triggers his shrinking. Lin Oliver has accomplished some amazing writing endeavors in her life, including bestselling books and even movies and TV. She now shares her extensive talent once again with her hilarious new series. This first installment introduces the lively and colorful characters, sets up the unique circumstances of tiny twin brothers and immediately delves into extraordinary adventures. Filled with lots of body behavior humor (like stinky feet) and wild escapades in miniature (like swimming in the dog's water bowl), ATTACK OF THE GROWLING EYEBALLS is a fun and delightful book. --- Reviewed by Chris Shanley-Dillman, author of FINDING MY LIGHT and THE BLACK POND

Funkalicious

This book was a joy to read. Very funny and a page turner. I also really enjoyed "The Funkster's Facts." I better share them with my friends and fast, before they all read this great book.

Very,very funny

This book rocks. Daniel Funk and his brother Pablo know how to have a good time, and in the process they take us along for a good time too.

Laugh till it hurts!!!!!!!

I read this book together with my two children, and I can honestly say that everyone involved enjoyed it. It had interesting plots to keep me interested and big laughs for the kids. Lin Oliver has done it again, my kids can't wait to read the next book in the series. Who Shrunk Daniel Funk has got it all.
