Atlantis of the North

If after reading this book and you can find any merit in any of the numerous university research projects that search for the continously existance of Atlantis, then reread the book. This book is so complete that one has to stand amazed as to why big money has not jumped onboard for an expedition to the coast of Jutland. Well, there is no amazement with big money.

Fryslan Heritage primer

For anyone who looks into their lineage and goes back beyond the era when the Batavii entered into Frisian lands which eventually evolved into the Nederlands. Palaeogeographic reconstructions of the North Sea before 10,000 years ago, combined with deep sea archaeology, have proven that Mesolithic mankind walked from what is now Britain to Denmark in a woodland of rivers and villages. Jurgen Spanuth compiles all the data to help in shaping the ancient history of the Frisians. His books are out of print but they are a "must read" whether one tends to believe in Atlas and his Atlantis Kingdom centered on Heligoland, the Oera Linda Book and the Earth Mothers of Texland, and the pagan religion of Forseti, the god of Justice, Peace, and Truth. Spanuth ties the migrations of the Frisians from the cataclysmic destruction of their homeland through Southern Europe, Malta, Libya, Greece, and the Middle East with the Hunebed Megaliths, the Rune alphabet, Germanic axeheads, and pottery symbols found in these areas.

Atlantis of the North

This book was one of the most important scientific books to bewritten in the 20th century. The author does not stumble on theerroneous date 9,600 BC as the date for Atlantis. This is the downfall of most of the other Atlantis myths. The Egyptian priests that gave Solon that date (he passed the story on to Plato) also cited 11,200 BC as the date of their first dynasty. Spanuth puts it all together. The challenge with this book is not its intellect, it is a fascinating read, it is psychological. This is not what we want to find out about life on planet Earth. We would rather read junk like The Selfish Gene. Perhaps the most fascinating part of this story is that the impact site of comet Phaethon created the Carolina Bays in the southeastern US. ...

At last a refreshing change from aliens and other silliness

Jurgen Spanuth has in my opinion solved the riddle of atlantis with this book, and indeed in his words the only thing surprising is that the question was not answered before now. In this book he uses cross references in such disciplines as conventional archaeology and geology even the science of astronomy (thats studying the positions of heavenly bodies not horoscopes folks) to determine the age and also the origin of Atlantis the Empire. This thouroughly unromantic and pragmatic book looks with a critical eye at the whole body of classical era archeology and comes to some surprising yet well founded conclusions, that have been unwittingly supported by discoveries since it's original publication. The only reason I don't give this book a rating of 10 is because it is so bloody hard to find, it is practically useless as a reference to refute the common stuff that litters the shelves of our bookstores. If romanticism about crystal temples and floating chariots in cities populated by creatures who resemble humans no closer than a melodramatic utopian cartoon is your bag, stay away. If however you would like to learn the truth about a long standing vibrant empire who saw its tragic and basically unlucky demise in the 13th- 12th century BCE then this is the book for you. With copious references to the Medinet Habu, which is the reference that that Solon himself used to find out about ancient Athens and in passing Atlantis, Jurgen capitalises on as many primary sources as possible. Bug the puplisher, bug the booksellers, bug the author or his heirs just get this book back into print.
