A lifesaver!!!

This novel was so romantic that it saved my marriage. It taught me to love life and all its twists and turns. The sisters reminded my wife and I of old friends in Chicago, and the funny mom seemed like our transplant-turkey mom...The restaurant scenes were pitch perfect and reminded us of a certain "fish house" in the Windy City...Buy this book!!! For yourself, your friends, hell, buy a truckload and pass them out in the streets...You'll be creating a happier world.

A huge step above the average romance novel

This book has it all--romance, intrigue, humor, heart, a clear narrative, and entertaining characters. The prose is way better than the usual standard romance novel fare. A definite must read--I can't wait to see what Cousins does next!

Fast-talking restaurant heiress Grace Haley is on the run from her overbearing family and down to her last few dollars when she bursts into a Chicago pub and convinces Tyler, the manager (who has planned his grand opening for that night and has just had his entire staff quit) that he needs to hire her. The sparks start to fly almost immediately between Grace and Tyler. All of Cousins' characters are well-developed and likeable, but the women stand out- they are a lot of fun to read about.
