Beautiful images, writing just "ok"

I wanted to like this. I bought it because no libraries had it and I LOVE Deborah Koff-Chapin's art. The subject matter itself sounded intriguing. I was willing to give it a shot. I finished it. It's dreams, and I think it could have been told better. It was told in a very flat way, each time starting off with 'going into the dream', 'entering the dreams', etc. I felt very separated from Marcia's experiences due to narration issues. Some things felt very out of place. She kept harkening to "Indian" Native American culture (which, as far as I can tell, she has no connections to). She also used a LOT of Christian themes, images, and stories that I wasn't expecting and that felt very strange in the context. There were some good messages and interesting images, but nothing that were any sort of epiphany for me. I'm going to be selling or donating the book. I cut out my favorite picture to keep. I regret I didn't do that to the whole book and just keep the artwork
