Enjoyable

The main characters, Tiago Santos and Danny Cameron are interesting, career-driven, intelligent and independent characters I found I could relate to. Unlike many romance novels, the word "love" is introduced into the story line far too early in the development of the characters and their budding relationship. Danny is a dreamer, a bit naive; she falls hard and quickly after a flirtation of a few weeks. Tiago, the "playboy of polo", is ensnared far too quickly by hardworking Danny, and their faux marriage to secure his heritage. The story does have some dramatic scenes and illustrates the importance of friendships that provide support beyond one's family to ease life's harsh realities. As in any storyline there is conflict; lies by omission, misrepresentation of actions, thoughts and feelings. Not really a journey of self-discovery or personal growth- beyond a gentle maturing of the characters. There was romance and steam, in just the right doses for this reader. The book was okay, but I felt something was missing. It lacked substance. I'd recommend it to readers looking for a quick, easy, pleasant read, without depth.
