I have long shelve of books on linux and unix. This is one decent book on ubuntu but it is what the title says: it is book for a very beginner and in this role it is very credible reading. You should not expect from it any "advanced" subjects, but it walks you trough first time ubuntu experience. It outlines and crisply describes basic things for first time users. It is not up to current version, but it is still very reliable...

This was even better than I expected. Not only is the book ease to understand but it comes with a free verson of the programs it describes. This was just great.
