I've had this book for at least 15 years, and -- despite the pressure of living in an apartment that's seven paces long and three paces wide -- I've never even considered tossing it. I still re-read it occasionally and, of course, lend it out. It's clever and it's funny and the two together are like chocolate and peanut butter, you know.
Understated humor
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 22 years ago
Sylvia and Edgar have been married for twenty-four years but during the past few years they have come to detest each other. Instead of getting a divorce they each decide to kill the other. Luckily, neither Sylvia or Edgar is very good at planning murder and each of them makes several unsuccessful attempts on the other. The mystery in this book is not who the killer is but is instead whether either of them succeeds in their diabolical plot. This is a gentle, humorous read and I enjoyed it very much.
