4 years old and still a good book

This was the second asp book I ever bought and i keep coming back too it for help. it has a good example of how to build an advertisement banner managements system. I love that, and I recently looked into building my first com object, the book is an easy read, and sure its not all in depth like a wrox book but it is also not the cure for insomnia either.. if you can find one get it. Make sure the cd rom is in the back.. I use allot of the techniques i learned in the book on my site which is an asp recourse.

Exceptionally clear, Start to finish, It's here!

I've had this book for 2 years and it has solely guided me through many projects with ease. I was writing my first ASP project hours after opening the book. My background is Access, SQL and PERL. I found it complete, deep and clear in necessary details. I also appreciated the info on PERLScript. These guys write well.

Excellent supplement for your ASP books

I have read two of their [Fedorcheck and Rensin]books (ASP and SQL Server) and can say that their books make excellent supplements to your existing book arsenal. Their books focus on real-world examples and many of their code sniblets and examples reflect that.I highly recommend this book for the working professionals who need answers quickly and for those experienced ASP programmers who want to extend their existing skills. The ASP Active-X object tutorials and examples add a nice touch to the overall content of the book. However, the book is a bit dated (IIS 3.0 vs. IIS 4.0) and some of the code samples on the CD will not compile in Visual Studio 6.0.Bottom line: Get this book if your serious about ASP and ASP Active-X programming. The email component and source code that comes with the book is reason enough to get it.

Still the best intro to ASP for programmers

The authors' succinct yet clear style allows them to explain ASP, JSCRIPT, and VBSCRIPT in less than 300 pages. After two years in print, this text remains the best for bringing experienced programmers to a productive level in ASP. Not a word is wasted, yet the text is entertaining. It is complete, providing exactly what is needed regarding the web server, ASP itself, and COM(ActiveX) interfaces to Visual Basic and C++. The text's style reminds me of the original Kernighan & Plaugher's classic "The C Programming Language". Let us hope that this text will inspire others to abandon the "fat book" syndrome of recent years and return to a clear writing style.

My Favorite ASP book

This book is concise -- it will get you going without boring you to tears! The authors have also looked outside the MS world; the information on PerlScript is especially appreciated. Professional ASP is also a good book, but if I was only going to get one, this would be it.
