This study of how 16 Asian states conceive of their security identifies and explains the security concerns and behavior of central decision makers, asking who or what is to be protected, against what potential threats, and how security policies have changed over time.
This is a collection of essays on Asian security issues by some of the top scholars in the field. The book is over a decade old and much of the information is out of date. However, the analysis of long-term/historical variables in foreign policy decision-making in these countries is very useful. I particularly liked the discussion of foreign-policy elites' views on security and their priorities.
