Roberto is the youngest of four brothers in the Glotiss Castle. With nothing to his name but a dowry from his father, he is imprisoned in the castle until he turns of age. Life becomes complicated when Roberto discovers an old enemy of the Brotherhood, a disbanded group of boys from his childhood.

When Marieanne is captured, Roberto rushes to save her. But when he goes for help, he finds his enemy is ready for him. Marieanne is aghast from the reports of her betrothed's death. But then the Red Snakes come for her once again, and she is taken from the safety of Canterton. The Red Snakes take over the Glotiss Castle and force Marieanne to marry the general of the force and Roberto's enemy.

Will Marieanne do as she is told and marry the Snake, or will she find a way to escape? Will Roberto survive in order to find and rescue his betrothed again?
