One of the most amazing God's story ever !

"Appointment in Jerusalem" was the second christian book I've read. The first one was "The Cross and the Switch blade" by David Wilkerson and I thought I would never find a book like that... ever... until I read "Appointment in Jerusalem" ! This book changed my spiritual life and took it to a different level. I swallowed it in 2 days... couldn't stop reading... I definitely recommanded it ! It is exceptionnal !!

Please read this book!

A very impressive book. It made a big difference in my life. This book tought me that:- God is very near- prayer enables us to tell God our worries and questions- prayer should also be used to let God speak to us- God wants to communicate with us- we need to LISTEN to what God has to say to us- we need to obey!! Also it seems hard to do.Regards, Anton

Lydia Prince's bio describes a prosperous Scandinavian schoolteacher with a devoted fiance' and a bright future. But something is missing--a deep relationship with God. She feels led to sell everything, leave her fiance' and move to Jerusalem in the '30s, with only one contact there. God leads her step by step through a turbulent period in history to start an orphanage. The story ends with a list compiled by the late author's late husband, teacher and writer Derek Prince, of Bible prophecies being fulfilled in Israel in our time, and how they will affect the world. The last place I saw _Appointment in Jerusalem_ for sale was in a gift shop--in Jerusalem. I wish a publisher would pick it up and re-print it. It's a classic and a keeper! I have lent this exciting biography out many times since I bought it in the '70s. It's one of the most inspiring and exciting stories I've ever read, and it's true. It's my second favorite book after the novel by Agnes Sanford, _Lost Shepherd_.

A captivating book! A keeper!

A friend recommended this book to me about 12 years ago. I have read it at least once a year since then. I can't imagine why it's out of print now. (I hope you can find a copy to read!)It's a true story about a teacher who lived in Denmark in the 1920s. She had everything--intelligence, independence, good looks, a successful career, a comfortable home, a male friend, etc. However, she kept thinking that there must be more to life. The book is about her search. It tells step by step how her thinking began to change, how she "found God," and how she decided to give up her excellent salary to move to Jerusalem (a place she had no prior knowledge of) and depend on God to take care of her. She didn't even know what she would do in Jerusalem; she just knew she had to go there. The story is fascinating. Every time I read it, I have trouble putting it down.

A remarkable story of a woman who followed her vision.

This book is that rare page turner which you cannot put down. A school teacher, Lydia, at the top of her profession leaves her native Denmark and travels to Jerusalem in the late 1920's --the beginning of a huge conflict between the Jews and the Arabs that is still going on today. She has traveled to Jerusalem because she has had a dream that she belongs there. And she gives up her home and her job to follow that dream. She arrives in Jerusalem pretty much penniless, but she relies totally on God for her needs, and He comes through. Just when she has spent her last coin for food, a money order arrives from Denmark to help her through another tough period. She has been given a sick, 18-month old child to nurse back to health, and she succeeds brilliantly at this job even though she must rescue the child and travel through a war zone with the child on her back. It's an excellent book because you feel inspired by Lydia's courage and ingenuity.
