An well done introduction of Western European society.

An easy read, this text is an excellent overview of some of the issues faceing European society and social anthropology. Despite the fact that it deals primarily with more time honnored subjects it is an excellent source for further reading. Moreover, it gives the student/ novice/ or beginner anthropologist 'food for thought' and leads the reader to question and prepare for more complex problems in Europe. In addition, it confronts contemporary topics such as tourism which as a globalk phenomenum is not exclusively European and thus has further applications.
