Apocalypse -- a positive spin on the Book of Revelation
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
Pablo Richard's Apocalypse is an excellent step by step walk through the Book of revelation, especially helpful for the first time reader of this last book in the Bible. Richard's viewpoint is of one who identifies with the poor, excluded and outcast of the world and his interpretation of Revelation shows his personal commitment to liberation theology. His main point is that Revelation primarily exists to reflect God and Jesus Christ's presence in the here and now in support of the poor, outcast and excluded and against the foces of evil -- in Revelation the Roman Empire and its vassal states -- in our modern world, the commercial, political, and social system that also excludes and oppresses. Revelation, he says, is not about the end of history, but about our interaction with God to change the course of history to match God's intent and thereby bring about a new, transcendent history -- the new Jerusalem.
