I discovered this book several years ago and purchased it right away. It was written about my old neighborhood and the high school I graduated from subsequent to the author's own graduation. I was in awe as to how accurately the spirit and essense of the experience was captured. This is truly a gifted writer with a professional objectivity to turn true events into not only a readable book but also an enjoyable journey. I have recommended this book to many friends over the years as the best description of the era. My other women friends who also attended parochical school were able to identify with it. This is a quick, fun read and insight into a time of innocence that is long gone. As has happened to me often over the years, I lent the book to a friend and it was not returned. I, therefore, had to buy a second copy years later at a second-hand book store. I wanted my second-husband to read it so that he would understand the person I was and how I came to be the person that I am today. When I purchased my second copy, I also bought copies for the classmates that I was still in touch with at that time. I, therefore, estimate that I have purchased at least 15 copies of this book. This is the only book that I have ever brought in such volume!
