The first woman columnist at "Time" expands on matters political and personal, reflecting on why some men become presidents and some never will, why some families work while others fall to pieces.
All too often, it is all too easy for Washington insiders to fall prey to common opinion of their peers and colleagues. Carlson bucks this trend by inviting us into actual dialogues taking place as decisions are made and implemented. Her book allows us insight into the workings of Washington and the minds of the very people responsible for decisions and policies affecting the direction of our country and our lives. A must read for those who wonder what drives our leaders. Like it or not.
Don't Miss

Witty, insightful and a whole lot of fun, this collection of columns from Time magazine columnist and CNN commentator is a must read for anyone with an interest in the American political scene. Even when you don't agree with her or her conclusions you'll revel in her delightful writing style and pervasive wit which can be sharp without ever been nasty of mean spirited -- a skill sorely lacking in these humorless times in which we live. A must.

A nice, and long overdue, collection of Carlosn's columns which goes to remind us that she is indeed one of the best (not to mention wittiest) columnists around. Thoughtful and enjoyable, the book is difficult to put down.

I just finished reading Margaret Carlson's new book, Anyone Can Grow Up-How George Bush and I Made it to the White House. The book, quite simply, is extraordinary. Her insights are phenomenal, her character analysis insightful, the chapters about her family life are incredibly heartwarming. The work is superbly written. In fact, I enjoyed the book so much, I'm going to reread it. Her writing skills and her observations about people and events are sheer magic.

I thought this book would be only interesting about Washington life, but I found this is a book that is truly about life. Everyone knows Margaret Carlson from CNN and Time Magazine, but you will see a whole different side of her as you go through this book.
