Great conversation starter for adult-child reading together

This was a beautifully illustrated discusion starter about racism. Many of the words and phrases were difficult for my grandchildren to understand (ages 6 and 9), but with explanations and examples of people we know, they understood the concepts. My grandson used the suggestion to look at our skin colors and differences. He went on to tell me about his best friend who has a white mom and a dark skinned dad and the differences in colors of the brothers in the family. The book opened my eyes to my own understanding of race and color. A great family book to read and talk about together.
