Readers of the first 2 books in this series know that my first husband, father of my sons, was Benjamin Lee Allen. This book is the family history of his father Alfred Allen and his mother Emily Hunt Allen.

This family line goes back to the time before the American Revolution and the Civil War. As these ancestors lived in the South, the Civil War affected them greatly.

Ben's family as well as mine, also fought in our Revolutionary War.
