Contains a compilation of articles selected from the public press, including magazines, newspapers, and journals. This description may be from another edition of this product.
In case you're wondering, these editions aren't really updated annually, despite what the title suggests. At least not in economics. The most recent edition of the volume you see pictured on this page, for example, came out in December of 2004. It's their 15th edition, called "05/06." There hasn't been one since. It's an anthology of various articles related to macroeconomic questions, intended for supplementary reading in a college macro course. Though the editors supply informative prefaces, none of the actual articles were written for this book: they all come from sources such as Business Review, The New York Times, The New Republic, etc. But there are also a few official Fed letters included, and essays from more obscure sources. To be honest, it seems to me the essays will strike the average college student as a bit technical, and certainly boring. Probably the person who will get the most out of this book is the instructor. I can't imagine students reading through unassigned essays just because they find the book fascinating, as might happen with other similar books, such as "Taking Sides: Clashing Views on Economic Issues." But I guess that's the way it is with a lot of subjects. There is also one of these annual editions available for microeconomics, and a combined volume that is just called "Economics." Note that in the latter case, the volume is simply not a glueing together of the macro and micro versions, but a slimmer volume, culling essays from each.
