Animals in the Classroom: Selection, Care, and Observations.Copyright 1989 with 234 pages by David C.Kramer. This description may be from another edition of this product.
The information contained in this book is invaluable for anyone interested in creating the perfect habitat for a myriad of animal species. It is well organized, clear, and concise, with lots of pictures and illustrations. The book is sectioned into 3 parts: Keeping Animals in the Classroom (a general overview with many helpful tips), Invertebrates, and Vertebrates. Each class and specie of animal that is covered has information on its Background, Characteristics, Habits, Reproduction, How to Obtain, Care, Housing, Diet, and what to do once the experiment ends. Even though the resource information is probably outdated, the animal care sections are terrific. I have an MS in Zoology, and this is the first book I grab when planning a new project. I haven't lost an animal yet due to poor husbandry or inadequate planning!
