but the rest of the book is accurate. I really enjoyed these books when I was little, and my son does now. Modern books on similar subjects I find to be too light on words, and far too "cartoon" like, or cluttered about with marginalia and other distractions. I usually just skip the lemming part, and I explain that hibernating and sleeping are not the same thing. Likewise in the insects do the strangest things book, they say that man has yet to learn how to make light without heat. Which, at the time the books were written was true, so I just explain about luciferin/ luciferase.
