With eight Grammy nominations and sales of over 4.5 million, Ani DiFranco is one of America's most fiercely independent and beloved musicians, as well as an outspoken voice of conscience. For the first time, she releases a book of poetry and paintings, capturing her essential artistry that has helped define and invigorate a new generation. Ani DiFranco: Verses rages, eulogizes, menaces, revels, and envisions. With a poet's precision and a citizen's stake, DiFranco finds the meeting places of intimacy and politics, of self and country, of resolve and compromise, and of the fickle and magnificent capacities of love and solitude.
If you're a true Ani fan, you need this book! She's unbelievably talented - Verses is a perfect addition to all her albums.

Bought this for my wife, she absolutely loves it. Me? Well, I am not really into Ani so I wouldn't quite give it 5 stars but I am under strict orders here to give this Verses 2 thumbs up. If you're a fan, you'll enjoy this.
Inspiring and Uplifting!

This book is amazing. It has a lot of her well known poems, but also a few that hadn't been published before. The paintings are really great too, and that's something of hers I had never seen before. It's a buy any Ani fan or poetry lover must make!
Different form, same brilliance...

I picked this up for my girlfriend's b-day and found myself reading a good chunk of it before I managed to pass it on... it's cool to see her words on paper and chew on them in a different form. Ani has a hell of a gift... definitely not light entertainment, she will make you think. If you're like me you'll find just a tiny dose of this very filling, but the girl devoured it all in one evening. Either way, get it!
