Andrew Hooper moved to McMinn County, Tennessee and bought land in 1826. He started selling land in 1827. His sister Sarah Hooper married James Shelton and also moved to McMinn county. Andrew and Sarah's brother Absolom Hooper moved to Polk County, Tennessee and raised a large family.
