extended version of the story of creation of Adam and Eve

I liked this book mainly because it presents an expanded tale of the creation of Adam and Eve. I always thought that the classical version of the story of Adam and Eve from the Bible is rather limited. From this book I learned that an extended and embellished story can be found in the Book of Legends, the Haggadah in Hebrew. There is also the Ismalic version in the work of Abou-Djafar al Tabari. That Islamic version is presented in the Oppenheim's book. This story of creation of Adam and Eve is much more dramatic, as I think it should be! Although this books is clearly written and illustrated as children's book, I think some of the ideas presented there are too complex to be comprehended and understood by children. Angels, earth, and soul objected to the God's idea of creating a man, who would be causing "red flames of war". As angels say, man's mind hidden in flesh and bone will be prey to ugly desires enslaving the flesh, breading greed, jealousy, and hatred. Unfortunately we find much evidence to these predictions thoughout history of mankind.
