The book describes the legacy of the pre-Columbian past in modern Mexican architecture. The black and white photographs of the Aztec and Mayan pyramids are throughout but also included are the lesser known Zapotecs of Monte Alban and Mixtecs of Mitla, to name just a few. There are aerial views, drawing plans of sites and spendid close ups of the pyramids. The text is highly informative as it gives a history lesson as well. This is a good book if you are interested in the pyramids as structures that have withstood the test of time. Archeology buffs will enjoy this book as all the major sites in Mexico are covered. The plates serve as good material for any reconstruction of the pyramids for building models, drawings or paintings. A good book to have in the pre-Columbian section of your library on Mexico.
