Great Intro for Grade Schoolers

So your child's interest in mummies and pyramids is getting pretty intense and you want to take advantage of it and give them a head start in classical history? Get this book. It's at least as comprehensive as any textbook and is more interesting. The author wrote it for his grandchildren. With illustrations on every page, it covers everything: the rise of civilization in the Nile valley, the Rosetta Stone, science, art and literature in ancient Egypt, the history of the three kingdom eras, a whole chapter on Ramses II, and 14 additional chapters. The last section is on the legacy of Egypt, so that by the end of the book your kid knows not just that history is really fascinating, but also your kids know why history matters. Perfect for homeschooling or for any kid who likes mummy movies.
